Vivid Sydney festival was started back in 2009 and this year the festival is held for the fourth time. Significantly grown and more breath-taking than ever before, Vivid Sydney has become the largest celebration of light, music and creative ideas in the Southern Hemisphere.

One of the centerpieces of the festival is the amazing lighting of the iconic Sydney Opera House sails. Each year a different artist is invited to turn the sails into something really special using the digital projector technology. In the last years artists who have been involved with it have been English musician and visual artist Brian Eno, American rocker Lou Reed together with artist/musician Laurie Anderson, founder of the Sydney-based record label Stephen Pavlovic.

This year the lighting of the Sydney Opera House sails are created by German design team URBANSCREEN who use 3D projection and the latest in lighting technology to turn the Opera House into a gigantic living art.

However, this is just one light installation. All together there are more than 60 light installations taking place, and that all in addition to music performances by artists from around the world, debates and conferences held and pvisted by the world's leading visionaries in the field of creative thinking.

Visit Vivid Sydney festival between May 25 and June 11.
